A bit about my yogic journey.....
I began practicing yoga in October 2009 with Dharma Shakti on the bluff in Long Beach, CA where she offered free yoga on the weekends. I always heard about yoga being a very relaxing physical workout, so that's what initially drew me into it. After about a month, I started practicing on my own at home during the week since she only offered weekend classes at the time, and I couldn't afford studio classes. I was going to school at the time, so waking up an hour early in the morning for some yoga, and sometimes even some in the evening. So glad I did that. As I went through my practice I was able to give myself adjustments in my head and really thought about how to explain them in words. Just by doing that it sort of trained me to be able to teach others. My first student was my mom. I was visiting her over new years and she was interested in joining me in my practice so I gave it a shot and guided her the best I could. She still tells me that it was very enjoyable. Thanks mom! After that, there was a day on the bluff when Dharma didn't make it to class. There were about 10 of us there and one person asked if there was anyone who could teach the class. After a few moments something compelled me to say I'd give it a try. They were all willing to join me, they just wanted some yoga! After class they thanked me and said it was a very nice class. This happened again a couple weeks later. Then there was a Sunday Dharma said she would not be able to have class. So instead of not having it I decided to ask Dharma if she would like me to sub it for her. She was probably hesitant because I just started my yoga practice, but she let me. I guess knowing that it was going to work out. Thank you Dharma! And it did.
I started 200hr yoga teacher training in October2010 and finished with a certification in March2011, then started the 500hr training and finished with a certification in Feb2012. What I have learned most of all throughout the training is about my Self. As I continue to learn, grow, and experience more and more, I will continue to share what has worked for me in my life practice through yoga. Planting seeds and being a reflection of peace, love, happiness, bliss, joy, and continuing to raise each others (((Vibration))) Bliss up!
